Serbian · Srpski · book-based study lab

Mali igrač

A study guide built entirely from the current Serbian edition of the book: every word in the book as a lemma with its forms, case examples taken from the story, grammar lessons with book sentences, translation drills over every aligned sentence, and a paragraph-by-paragraph bilingual reader. Tap any Serbian word in the Reader or the Translation Lab to see what it means.

How to use this page

The fastest loop is read → notice → retrieve → use. Read one chapter in the Reader, set the Vocabulary deck to the same chapter, answer that chapter's case questions, then translate a few of its sentences without looking.

1 · ReadOpen a chapter in the Reader. Try “Serbian + tap for English”, and tap any unfamiliar word for its meaning.
2 · RetrieveFilter Flashcards, Match and Cloze to the chapter you just read. Mark words you know; the deck can hide them.
3 · ProduceTranslation Lab uses every aligned sentence of the book, in both directions. Serbian → English checks comprehension; English → Serbian builds production.

Match game

Match six words from the current deck with their meanings.

Context cloze

Pick the form the book uses. All options are real forms of the same word from the book; the English line is your clue.

Word bank

The seven cases

Start from function, not endings: who is doing it, where is it, where is it going, with what, from where, to whom?

Case detective

Every question is a real sentence from the book. Name the case of the highlighted words.

Common endings — quick reference

A simplified pattern table using koš (m.) · lopta (f.) · mesto (n.). Serbian also has stem changes, animate masculine accusative (igrač → igrača*), and other exceptions.

Grammar through the story

Each pattern with sentences from the book, highlighted, with their English lines.

Sentence translation lab

Every sentence pair from the aligned Serbian and English editions. Type your version first, then compare structure, not only words. Tap Serbian words for help.

Paragraph practice

Every paragraph of the chapter, in order. Try to reconstruct the paragraph before revealing the other language.

Bilingual reader

The Serbian edition follows the English text paragraph for paragraph, so each Serbian paragraph sits next to its English original. Tap a Serbian word for its meaning.
