Finish with a choice
Cue
See the space, make your arm long.
Principle
The defender decides the finish: look first, then choose.
Set-up
Pairs at one basket. Attacker starts close, defender beside or slightly behind. Choose the open side and finish within usable range. Start with shadowing, then light resistance. Swap after every attempt, including a miss. One pair active; other pairs practise the same footwork without the basket in the coach’s sight.
Where this fits
By layer
| Layer 0Aware | Close in, no defender, try many variations. |
| Layer 1Control | Choose the open side beside a shadowing defender. |
| Layer 2Shape your own | Finish with light contact, both hands. |
How do you coach it?
Short and precise, coach-led, at most about 10 minutes. Then back to play.
Autonomy is not the criterion here.

Easier
Closer, no defender, slower tempo.
Harder
Different angle or hand; add light resistance.
Question to observe
Does the choice fit the defender, and does the player land under control?
