The second cut
The first cut makes space, the second scores.
Principle
The first cut almost never works: it comes from one pass away and the cutter is the passer. The second cut, from two passes away, is the real threat. That keeps players from becoming pass-and-cut robots.
Set-up
Half court, 3-on-3 or 4-on-4. First round without dribbling.
Rules
After each pass the passer cuts or fills space. The first cut (by the passer, one pass away) makes space. The second cut comes from further away, by someone who was two passes away.
Scoring
Score = 2. Score from a second cut = 3.

How do you coach it?
Intensity, emotion and consequence. The coach protects the rules and stops play as little as possible.
Long explanations and technical correction during play do not belong here.

Easier
3-on-2; the coach points out the second cutter.
Harder
With one dribble; the defence may not switch.
Question to observe
Does the ball handler see the second cut, or only the first?
