Pivot and pass under pressure
Cue
See your receiver first.
Principle
The feet make the pass possible.
Set-up
Groups of three, one ball: passer, receiver and defender. Passer keeps a legal pivot foot, protects possession and finds a lane. Receiver gets open. Defender intercepts passes without hitting the ball held in the hands. Rotate after three attempts.
Where this fits
By layer
| Layer 0Aware | Pivot without a defender, head up. |
| Layer 1Control | Pivot under pressure and find a passing lane. |
| Layer 2Shape your own | Use the pivot to make space against contact. |
How do you coach it?
Short and precise, coach-led, at most about 10 minutes. Then back to play.
Autonomy is not the criterion here.

Defender limited to one passing lane.
Harder
Active defence; vary distance and angle.
Question to observe
Do the feet and the receiver together make the pass possible?
