Find your range
Finish long, also at the limit.
Principle
Range is personal and it changes. You grow into it through strength and technique, not by trying further.
Set-up
Pairs at a basket, a cone and a tape measure or steps.
Rules
Start at 1 metre. Ten shots per distance, then half a metre back. The limit is where the form breaks or you drop below 4 of 10. Your partner watches only the form. Write the distance down.

Solves Shot selection
By layer
| Layer 0Aware | No limit yet: lots of throwing at all kinds of distances and heights. |
| Layer 1Control | Record a first range; the coach explains why a limit is there. |
| Layer 2Shape your own | Re-measure range after growth; under pressure and fatigue. |
| Layer 3Shape others | Make a shot profile: from where, after what, under which pressure. |
How do you coach it?
Short and precise, coach-led, at most about 10 minutes. Then back to play.
- catch in balance
- power from legs and hips
- finish long, hold the follow-through
Autonomy is not the criterion here.

Works on
Knowing your own range; telling a good shot from a throw
Easier
Five shots per distance.
Harder
After a pass and a step; then under light pressure.
Question to observe
Which part breaks first: the balance, the power, the long finish?
